My Love Story May Seem Like A Bollywood Movie

So mine is somewhat of a Bollywood story, based on inter-religion conflicts. Neither too long nor too short.

I joined this big organization at a senior position a while ago. There was this lady who was the most charming person I had ever seen in my life. Our story started with the friendly banters that used to take place every now and then. We never took each other seriously at the start. But we always had our own set of run ins involving different issues. Gradually, it so happened that we got used to each other. A bit more than what's normal.

If anyone of us took a leave for a day, time just wouldn't pass in the office.

She had the twinkle in her eyes with the brightest smile. The most beautiful one I'd ever seen. Her smile was enchanting and I could look at her all day long to admire her beauty as we went through the day. More than anything, her energy was infectious.

Attraction towards her was there but if it was love - that was a big question mark.

We had no plans of falling in love or getting into a relationship, but our mutual friends began to think otherwise. My friends and hers always tried to bring us close together to spend time. Weekend gatherings became the norm. A friend in office advised me to go ahead and propose to her.

I never had the guts to ask her out because I didn't want to lose her for any silly mistake on my part. Somehow I too felt that it was idiotic to avoid this relationship for long. It came so naturally to us. One day, I gathered the guts and proposed to her. To my surprise, it was a yes by that same evening.

Our romance bloomed. The relationship blossomed and we decided to take it to the next level. She supported me in everything I did. We got intimate, got comfortable with each other.

I wanted to marry her first thing in my life. Then came the obstacle. She asked her parents for their permission. The moment they heard that I was from a different religion than hers, her parents got furious. Her mother and sister got my number from her and rejected me nicely and firmly for marriage. I was heartbroken. She was crying her eyes out. I could bear anything in this world but not her tears.

I never wanted to hurt either side of our families by going for marriage against their wishes. With a heavy heart, we parted ways. She got married instantly to some other guy. I left the company and moved to another city.

Later, I came to know that she got divorced. Now she is working in New Delhi. I still love and cherish the time I spent with her. I want to be with her. Love her like never before and stand by her side. I don't know if I could ever get her back again, but I sincerely wish for her wellness and happiness.

It may sound like a Bollywood movie to you, but the truth remains that this is a reality. Many of us lovers ruin our lives every day just because we forgot to notice someone's religion before falling in love.
