We got a very important message on Friday night, the result of which was "I’m Leaking My Ex’s Dirty Messages And Voice Notes Because He's Left Me No Choice". We asked each and every one of you to stand up for the girl. And you did. A girl who was blackmailed, coerced, and prodded, until she could take it no more.
She made public the dirty laundry of a man who believed himself untouchable.
The story reached more than a million people in less than 24 hours, every one of them wondering — where the hell is this guy, how is he not exposed, punished, and castrated?
We'd first like to say that we're ashamed. We're ashamed of all of you.
We all raised our voices but nothing happened.
We reached people all over the world, but, nothing happened.
We're ashamed of ourselves for believing that a million voices could make a difference. We're ashamed of the accused family who messaged us incessantly to take down the post.

Because, a mother is busy protecting her soon-to-be rapist son and the vulnerability of the victim has been taken advantage of. The man in question is on the run and we have entertained many of his spokespeople in the two days that have gone by.
When we asked his mother, "What would you do if it were your daughter?" She said, "As victim's mother I will rather ask them to stop and discontinue their friendship. And I would never ask her to ruin his life. But I would suggest her to break all contacts with the person and if possible apologise to her in writing. I would never allow her to go public." While the country was fighting her uncouth son, she was convincing the woman he abused to let him not pay for his sins. That's the son she forgot to raise as a man.
She gave birth to a rapist, she then defended his crime. That's how well we teach our sons in this society.
AkkarBakkar: Before she called you, did you call her first?
Accused’s mother: Yes we have contacted her as know her very well and we panicked.
We know her since long before and that is why we contacted her.
AkkarBakkar: Ok, tell us this, if the situation was reversed, and you were the victim’s mother instead of the culprit’s mother, what would you say to her?
Accused’s mother: As victim’s mother I will rather as them to stop and discontinue their friendship.

How far can a mother's love go? No crime is too big for her love towards her son.
No crime is too big for a family to turn its back on a heathen of a son. The victim, the troubled, stressed, tensed woman was harassed by the accused and his family for two continuous days. We were finally told that the "matter has been resolved internally."
Let's pack our bags, folks. Justice has been served, because an under-slept, over-stressed victim was convinced to keep quiet by a group of people that believe themselves to be above the law.

Accused’s mother: Sir we are not harassing her. We asked for her sincere forgiveness. And sir she just now called and guided us. We did not coerce her in anyway.

AkkarBakkar: When the relevant authorities start investigating this case, the fact that you contacted her will be known.

"He won't do it again" we were told. "He is ashamed."
Well, first, he should be ashamed. Second, it doesn't matter if he does it again. This is akin to the Bollywood movies in which the rape victim is made to marry the rapist because, justice.
Justice is when a violated woman is given a lifetime supply of violation, because, society.
AkkarBakkar: You do realise that at one point in the voice note, your son mentions her committing suicide?
Accused’s mother: Yes I do realise that but this all is in the heat of the moment and I beg apology to her many times. Even my son has apologised to her for this. And all of this was a rash decision and heat of the moment. The victim has realised this too even before we contacted her.
AkkarBakkar: What about the demands he made? It that in the heat of the moment too?
Accused’s mother: Yes. The whole scenario has been played due to anger. And for this we heartily apologise and beg for forgiveness to her and any other peson who has been hurt by this.

This story may have been a success in its own right, but we as a 'progressive society' failed miserably today.
We wanted to start a movement, but today, we've done nothing.
We wanted to change lives, but today, we've changed none.
We wanted justice, but today, we got none.
This doesn't mean that we're going to give up. No, that'll be too easy. Everyone has given up, we won't. Inaction begets inaction and we will not go quietly into the night. We'll keep fighting the good fight, because we have to. If we don't — our daughters will get raped and our daughters will get blackmailed and we'll just teach them to shut the hell up. If women won't stand up for themselves, we'll stand for them.
