I was only four years old when my mother passed away, leaving me without the purest love that every child deserves.

My heart ached for her every day, but my grandmother took me in her arms and raised me as her own. She was my rock, my everything, and still is at the age of 85. But even with her love, something felt incomplete. I yearned for a love that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

As I grew and realised I was gay, I searched for that missing love in relationships. But they always ended, leaving me feeling even more incomplete.

When my six-year-long relationship ended, I was devastated. It took me two long years to even consider giving love another chance.

Then, one day, I met Avinash on a dating app.

Our conversations were effortless, and I found myself gravitating towards him more and more each day. We talked about everything under the sun, and I felt like I had finally found someone who understood me.

As soon as we decided to meet, my heart raced with excitement. But on our first date, Avinash dropped a bombshell: "I live in Singapore and have come to India to meet my family." My heart sank.

How could I fall for someone who lived so far away? Despite my reservations, our first date was magical.

We laughed and talked for hours, and I found myself drawn to Avinash in ways I never thought possible. But as much as I wanted to be with him, I knew a long-distance relationship was out of the question.

My job tied me to India, and I couldn't imagine leaving everything behind for love.

Avinash was unlike anyone else. When he gazed into my eyes and declared, "I love you, and I'll do whatever it takes to be with you. Even if it means returning to India after fulfilling my professional obligations. I'll ensure that we see each other often," My heart swelled with emotion.

And he wasn't just saying it for show. One day, he appeared before me as a surprise, and when I saw him standing there, his eyes brimming with nothing but pure love, I knew he was the one for me.

True to his word, Avi and I met frequently, and our love only grew stronger.

After dating for a couple of months, we decided to get married. It was a small ceremony, with only our closest friends and family in attendance. But it was perfect. With Avinash by my side, I felt like I had everything I could ever want in life.

Love found me when I least expected it, and I couldn't be happier.

Because when you find someone who loves you enough to cross oceans, you hold onto them with all your heart.

With Avinash, I have found the love that I have been searching for all along.
