I Let Go Of My Best Friend Because My Boyfriend Didn't Like Him

*For representational purpose only.

I've always had a lot of familial responsibilities to take care of. All work and no play - that was what my life had been about ... until I met him. He was not the most handsome guy, but I found him really cute and charming.

We connected with each other the first time we met.

Gradually, we became close friends and I started sharing all my sorrows and secrets with him. Whatever the situation, he could always put a smile on my face.

We started spending more time together over long chats and video calls.

No, we were not in love with each other, for we were both already in a relationship with different people - he was in a long distance relationship from the past 5 years and I was in a relationship with my boyfriend for the past three years.

But even my boyfriend couldn't give me the care, concern, love and time which he gave me. My boyfriend misunderstood our friendship and created quite a scene. Since that day, we've stopped talking to each other. In fact, if we cross paths, we avoid one another. But even today, I cherish each and every moment that I spent with him. He came like the shining light of hope in my colorless life and taught me how to live. He gave me strength to work towards my goals and make all my dreams come true.

I can never forget you. You will always remain special to me, A.K.

Love is not always about a boy and girl longing to be together and shedding tears over separation. It's more than that, it's about letting go, its about living and letting your lover live peacefully. But most importantly, it's about being happy.
