Motherhood For Me Is About Striking A Balance And I Do It Every Single Day

Being a mother means you are destined for the well-being of another soul until you take your last breath. To choose to be a mother means you have decided that you are ready for this journey even when you don’t know where it’s headed.

I first became a mother to a beautiful daughter (14 now) at the age of 26. It was the first time I realized that it's possible to love someone so much. Holding my girl, a tiny version of me, was beyond words. It was elating and yet petrifying!

My daughter is my BFF and now I also have a son who’s 11 years old. Receiving those dainty gifts—little notes, drawings, and paper cards from my children has my heart. Random “I love yous” and those grateful eyes when I make their favourite food is a completely different feeling altogether. And, watching them accomplish things in life is absolutely surreal.

It’s true that moms are multitaskers but moms can't be perfect all the time. Somewhere along the line, sacrifices are made, but I have always kept my priorities clear. My children, my family, and my work are my responsibility. However, I have never compromised on my “me time”. Self-love, self-worth, and self-esteem are the important mantras for me to succeed in all spheres of life. Plan, Prepare, Pamper, and Prosper is my thumb rule.

Also, motherhood is not just about being dauntless, but also about being a great cheerleader to my children at all times. It’s surprising that mothers can hear sentences in the silences of their children. God has given mothers the gift of intuition which gives them a strong sense of what is right for their children, and what might not be.

Well, I don’t believe in tough love but in striking a balance. Every situation is different. Every kid is different. And therefore, talking it out is a must.

Lastly, I don’t believe in burdening my children by not choosing my career over them. I strike a balance, and that’s what makes it all work so smoothly.
