I Am The Person Who Is Waiting For You, Still

( words)
*For representational purpose only.

I am the person who does not know what love really means. I am the person who liked you a lot.

I am the person who longed for your company. I am the person who would wait the entire day for you to come back from work. I am the person who would wait for your calls, even though you had left home just a few minutes ago. I am the person who longed to sit with you and watch television together. I am the person who was excited to cook your favorite dishes every day.

I am the person who always placed your likes and dislikes above mine.

I am the person who always wore clothes of your choice. I am the person who felt proud of you when you succeeded in the smallest of deeds. I am the person who got annoyed when someone spoke negatively about you. I am the person who got goosebumps each time you touched me.

I am the person who spent sleepless nights because of the child and yet woke up early every morning so you did not have to go hungry. I am the person who felt lazy to clean up the house but still pulled myself together so that you didn’t think I was lazy.

I am the person who felt low when you lost your job. I am the person who stood by you then.

I am the person who had complete confidence in you. I am the person who saw you fall and then rise.

I am the person who felt insecure when you kept comparing me with the other women at your workplace. I am the person who felt ignored when you spent all your time talking to the women at the party, and did not even realize that I was right there with you.

I am the person who has health and fitness on her mind. I am the person who plans on exercising every morning. I am the person who is ready to binge on fast food anytime. I am the person who gets emotional when the National Anthem is played. I am the person who cries when there is a sentimental scene playing in a movie. I am the person who has tears rolling down when I see pictures of sad children on social media. I am the person who sobs to sleep when you choose television over me.

I am the person who has tears in my eyes when our child hugs me.

I am the person who forgot about myself but always thought about you. I am the person who took pride in saying that you are mine. I am the person who saw you at your worst.

I am the person whom you spoke ill of. I am the person you left, to move on with the other woman.

I am the person who still cannot understand where things went wrong.

I am the person who blindly trusted you. I am the person who still sees our old pictures and gets emotional.

I am the person who is still here, waiting for you.
