Dear Anxiety, I'm Convinced That You'll Never Leave Me Alone

( words)
*For representational purpose only.

Dear anxiety,

Help thyself
You are my faithful friend,
You never shy away,
You never give up,
You are part of who I am now.
Yet,

It is a losing battle I fight with you everyday,

You made me defend throughout,
It's a crude world that you have exposed me to,

I threaten, bash, and shame you
But you are still with me.

Oh anxiety
I dare you to speak to me,
"Hello anxious, you seem transformed," I exclaimed

"I am not transformed but just hidden
"Beneath thy anxious self."

"I shall reveal myself to you today"
"As once a man said, courage is not the absence of fear"
"Who are you?" I asked bewildered.

"I am your subtle, understanding, and empathizing self.

Just less known to the crude and tough world
I will continue to be faithful to you.
True to my nature.
Count on me,

I am your sensitivity."
