No matter how independent an individual becomes, who doesn't like surprises that life brings them? Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to feed you philosophy! I'm only going to tell you what happened to me.

So, I met this man on Tinder and a relationship blossomed. I've been using this app for a really long time, and every now and then, I try my luck with love. I was on the lookout when I first saw him.

It was April, and I was waiting for the rock band in the sky to make a comeback soon- I was in Chandigarh and he was in Delhi. We had no chance of meeting immediately. I was biding my time, talking to him on the phone.

One morning, he called me and asked if I had 10 minutes. I thought he wanted to do a video call. I was still half-asleep and I asked him what he was up to.

"Main aa raha hoon, thodi der mein," he said. Wait, what?! I sat bolt upright on my bed wondering if I was dreaming. I mean, I had always dreamt that whoever was going to be my boyfriend would surprise me like this, and it was finally happening with a man that I was yet to meet.

It was Sunday and everyone was at home. I was not even sure if I could get away from them. But I was so excited and he had come such a long distance just to meet me. I told my folks whatever story came to mind and I made a run for it.

We had decided to meet at a place. By the time I reached there, he was already waiting for me. The minute I entered, the cacophony of voices in my head died- I walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

He turned around to look at me and my heart stopped for a second. It was as if words had deliberately failed us, and it made me weak in the knees. He stood up and hugged me tightly. Without a word, he told me that he had been aching to see me too. Right then and there, I found my day of love.

We didn't have much time. We took a small drive and I dropped him to a place where his friends were waiting. He introduced me to them, and his every word and gesture implied that I was his girl. I loved how he owned that moment, and made me feel so special.

So many beautiful months have passed since then, and he never misses an opportunity to make small or grand gesture. I keep falling for him again and again, but it's not the act of being in love that's got my heart in trouble- it's when he stops everything and he looks into my eyes- that's when I feel like I'm in a free fall, and it all ends in his arms.
