In The End, I Only Chose The Man Who Stood By Me When I Needed Him

After successfully ending my college days, which really got out of hand, I was about to start my career as a professional. I still remember the first day of my office, there was one person on the same floor as mine, I looked at that person and instantly I had butterflies in my stomach. Soon I realized that it was love at first sight and yes love, at first sight, does exist. I took the initiative and started talking to him day and night.

Soon our love blossomed, we said yes to each other and the feeling was insane. It was like we could die for each other and what we wanted was only to stay together.

We really went out of our respective comfort levels just to be with each other. Those days were just too special. He really loved me. After two years of togetherness, one day he came over to my place just for a usual hang out. So, I went downstairs to meet him that day and he told me that he wanted to end this relationship as his father was against our relationship and that he would never accept me as his daughter-in-law. I wanted to be the daughter of the house, not a daughter-in-law.

I started crying and spoke to my mother about it. My mother and I went to his place then, but he wasn’t home and that really shattered me to the core.

I thought that I was doomed. I gave up everything just to be with this person and when I needed him the most, he wasn’t there to support me. That day there was no looking back to this person. I deleted all the photographs I had with him; I was shattered completely.

After 20 days of my break up, my mother told me to meet one guy whom my family knew.

I told my mother not to force me and she respected my decision, but she told me that she would be okay if I just met him once. I agreed. I went to meet this person who is my husband now. Yes, I ended up meeting him more than once and marrying him. We ended up getting engaged very soon after the first meeting.

As soon as my ex found out about my roka, he tried contacting me and wanted me to come back in his life.

Days passed by, and I was confused as to what I should do. On the one hand, there was my ex who did everything for me but the day I needed him the most, he wasn’t there and on the other hand, there was my fiancée who did not do anything to please me but was there when I needed him the most. I decided to stay with my fiancée who is my husband now and after 6 months of courtship, we got married. Now it’s been 2 years since my marriage and I’m in love again with my husband. Yes, love again happened to me. I am in love with him, he is very sweet, caring and lovable. I guess it’s better to be with that person who loves you more than you love him.

Pyaar usse karo jo tumse kare; naa ki usse jisse tum karte ho. Today I’m sure my husband loves me more than I love him, and I’m lucky to have him as my friend and my partner for the rest of my life. Yes I am the lucky one.
